Summer Study Abroad in Sicily, Italy Eight Week Programs

Credits awarded: up to 9 academic credits in up to 3 of the courses listed below

Enroll with a friend and share a room and each student receives a 200 Euro discount! Students must enroll for same dates, but may select different courses.

Students enrolled in the Eight Week Summer Study Abroad in Italy, Sicily program (Quarter Term Program) can take full advantage of all the cultural musical, artistic and theatrical events which are scheduled at Babilonia - Center for Italian Language and Culture which serves as a cultural center for the Taormina community. Book presentations, jazz concerts, art exhibits, cultural lectures and films are offered in the school's botanical gardens as part of the center's cultural activities and events open to students. Students can complete three academic courses selecting from Italian language immersion courses to Italian literature, cinema, art, history, or archeology courses taught in English or Italian. A minimum of one Italian Language course or one content course taught in Italian is required.  The international student population studying at Babilonia - Center for Italian Language and Culture enriches the learning environment makes the Center a unique opportunity for Study Abroad in Italy students.

Summer Study Abroad in Sicily, Italy Eight Week Programs include:

Language courses are total immersion study of Italian language and culture combining oral and written expression. Emphasis is on building communicative proficiency along with a basic command of Italian grammar. A variety of resources (journals, reviews, magazines, commercials, TV ads, video clips and music) expose students to the sights and sounds of contemporary Italy. Classes are restricted to a maximum of 12 students to optimize language acquisition.

All levels of Italian are offered all sessions.
