Babilonia - Center for Italian Language and Culture is truly a Cultural Center open to both our International Students and the local community. The Cultural Events which take place at the Center represent a unique opportunity for our International students to genuinely feel part of the Italian community, to experience cultural exchanges with Italian artists and musicians, to meet Italian literary authors during our book presentations, to enjoy art exhibitions during our painting and photography openings, to relax in the Babilonia botannical gardens during the jazz, contemporary and classical concerts hosted in our school garden. The school is the original "Casa Silva" estate, an historical property located in the heart of Taormina only 200 meters from the ancient Greek Theater.

Each faculty member at Babilonia - Center for Italian Studies is carefully selected based on both academic excellence and engaging and dynamic teaching skills. All faculty members have a minimum of a Master’s Degree and are fluent in multiple languages ensuring an academically challenging study abroad in Sicily experience. All language faculty are native speakers who attend professional development training conferences and lectures to maintain a current and advanced level of pedogogical skills.

Host Families
Semester, Quarter and January term Study Abroad in Sicily, Italy students are placed with host families in a single room accommodation. Host families provide breakfast and dinner each day including weekends. Our host families are noted for their outstanding Sicilian cuisine which is traditionally fresh, healthy and delicious. Many of our host families have been hosting students for many years and students frequently return for additional study and request returning to their original hosts.

As per the Official website of the Italian Police, all individuals entering Italy who are citizens of non-European countries (countries not belonging to the Schengen area) and staying in Italy for fewer than 90 days are only required to get their passports stamped at the customs station at the airport of entry.
